Recipe type: Dessert
Kashata are an Ethiopian food recipe of coconut balls.
- ⅔ cup sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 2 cup coconut, grated
- ½ cup peanuts
- Heat the sugar in a pan until it melts while stirring constantly. It will be dark brown and thick.
- Add the cinnamon, coconut and peanuts.
- Cook for about 2 minutes, or until the sugar turns light brown.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- When cool enough to handle, form small balls and place on wax paper until set.
